If you do an internet search on “adoption,” you’re likely to get more hits for pet adoption than for infant adoption.
We just don’t talk much about adoption these days, do we? The average American is only two degrees of separation from someone who was adopted, yet the average American knows little about adoption and how it works today because it rarely comes up in conversation.
A monumental Supreme Court decision was released on Friday, June 24. We at Unplanned Good sincerely hope that this decision leads more women facing unplanned pregnancy to consider placing their babies for adoption. Further, there's a lot of conjecture about what this means. And a LOT of misconceptions about what happens next.
I would like to give the context behind this article about a rule proposed on Nov. 1 that would supposedly "allow adoption and foster care agencies to receive federal grants, even if they choose to reject LGBTQ couples as potential parents for religious reasons." Here's some background:
