Terri Marcroft

Terri Marcroft

Terri is the adoptive mom of a 24-year-old young woman who is the love of her life. Terri’s all-time favorite action hero is her daughter’s birthmother, who made an adoption plan while she was a senior in high school.

In 2008 Terri identified the need to more actively suggest adoption: today less than 2% of young US women facing unplanned pregnancy choose adoption for their babies, while there are over one million childless couples in the US hoping to adopt. After ten gratifying years of parenthood, and 25 in high tech marketing & communications, she founded Unplanned Good in 2010. Terri leads the Unplanned Good efforts to encourage pregnant girls to consider making an adoption plan. She hopes to also reach those who mentor them, and encourage them to suggest adoption. At Unplanned Good, we know that adoption can be a blessing for all involved, and want to spread the word.

Terri serves on the Board of Second Mothers, (https://secondmothers.org/) a non-profit that provides community, encouragement and resources to “second mothers” — those who foster, adopt or otherwise choose the beautiful ‘Mom’ title as they care for, and parent, children all over the world.  Terri is also on the Board of Real Options / Obria women’s medical clinics.

John Schwarz

John Schwarz

John Schwarz is delighted to serve on the Board of Unplanned Good. John himself is an adoptee, and in 2012 he found and connected with his birth family. His adoption journey and incredible reunion story prompted him to become more involved in promoting adoption. John says that building a relationship with this whole new branch of his family has been one of the most exciting and incredible experiences of his life, and he is truly grateful to them.

John lives in Los Gatos with his wife and two children, and he works as a Vice President of an environmental consulting firm in San Jose. John enjoys spending time with his family, and in his spare time also enjoys jiu jitsu, golf, and snowboarding. John holds a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Anne Steeley

Anne Steeley

Anne Steeley has been an advocate for protecting the hearts and minds of children/teens by volunteering on her local school district’s Family Life Advisory Committee. She worked at a non-profit organization that wrote a risk-avoidance curriculum that was adopted for the 7th grade science classes in the district. She also took teens to conferences in Washington, D.C and lobbied legislators about the importance of risk avoidance education.

As a Board Chair of Pregnancy Choices Clinic in Union City (now part of Real Options), Anne oversaw the management of the medical clinic. She observed as hearts and minds were changed when seeing the ultrasound of their baby, by compassionate counseling and ongoing support. Anne is committed to promoting adoption as a positive alternative for women with an unplanned pregnancy.

Anne is happily married to her husband Bill. They have two children and five precious grandchildren that she loves spending time with. She enjoys playing tennis, golf and walking the surrounding nature trails.
